My IP is this:
"Logical Selection Complex"
This is the concept that in the future we will have to eventually select who can breed and who cannot due to the overpopulation. This will lead to a society where people are judged inferior based on the importance of their genetic material and if they have the social right to continue their bloodlines.
I believe that over the coarse of my blog I have justified that the best horror ideas come from the most believable fears that we have had over our time. That being said I think I have also pr that throughout the blog that the next largest fear that we will face is that medicine has worked too well and we will soon have to many people and not enough resources. These two facts combined prove to me that in the future we will have a very genuine population crisis, however before it actually happens I think that fear of it will rise quickly in anticipation of the event. This will create an IP which will be very marketable.
To reference my research on why this will be marketable I will simply say that the reason the wolfman was so popular was because in our past a certain event spouted horror stories that have been passed down, I will also say that Frankenstein is a horror story of an event that has probably been tried countless times and if not has been feared for longer, zombies have been around for as long as we have feared illness, disease and that there are too many people. Throughout my blog I have drawn up the conclusion
You need to identify and justify why your IP is relevant and marketable using your research and references.

ReplyDeletePlease check the following points in relation to your work:
You need to run Spell Checker and grammar checker to identify the obvious mistakes, but please make sure you read through your blog posts and any comments to address any other issues and presentation problems. ....and don't forget to check your introduction too.
You must reference images and your sources of information within your pages using (author, date), with your complete reference in your bibliography page.
Your bibliography also needs to be in alphabetical order by surname.
Please also remember that Wikipedia is NOT considered an academic resource - please use the original source of information which is usually given on the wiki page.
You must also reference the sources of your information. For example:
"So the syringe, a staple of medicine and a timeless symbol of the science. However it is feared by many for the pain it brings leading to phobias and even the syringe being used in horror films."
Without the reference this is just supposition/opinion and not considered viable research. You need to read through all of your research and where possible verify your statements and facts with sources - you do not need to copy any text from these sources unless it helps your arguments, just add the reference to support your statements. (I suggest you colour code all your references so they stand out. (It is also worth if you have time, making those references link to the place where the information is found.))
Please DO NOT provide us with web links to find your research – referencing allows us to check the authenticity of your examples, but we will not and should not have to follow links – You need to provide the research examples and not links to it.
Make sure you discuss the relevance of your examples in showing the popularity of your topic and I suggest you colour code these comments to make them more identifiable.
Make sure your examples are relevant in each section – your research for present is the last 2-5 years at most.
Be careful that your research does not get bogged down with too much irrelevant information - you are trying to prove or disprove a popularity for your topic - we do not need to know the back story to each example (unless relevant to your arguments) or have the full quotes from articles (just a small relevant snapshot). We do not however want a list of examples either.
Feedback continued.....
ReplyDeleteWhere possible, please make sure that all your images link to the place where they were found.
You need to make sure your blog is formatted and presented well and consistent across all pages. (Your font sizes are varying.)
Make sure quotes are in italics to make them identifiable from the rest of your blog and again reference correctly.
Ideally at the end of each post draw some conclusions about what you have found: Does the diversity of research material show popularity for your topic, in not only name, but in the various definitions you have looked at? What other conclusions can you draw from your research? Lead us into your next section- E.g. from present into your past topic.
Your research: You have a lot of good, diverse examples of media. You need to make sure you discuss these examples and how they show a popularity for your topic - if you have done this, you need to make it more obvious.
Forecast: You must use the results from your present, past and Horizon research to DISCUSS and SUPPORT your forecasts. Be careful that it doesn't become too wordy and rambling. Be concise but imaginative.
IP Justification: You need to identify and justify why your IP is relevant and marketable using your research and references.....you need to use actual examples here from your research and you must also reference again - this will be used independently of your research next semester which is why this is important.
You still need to complete your IP Justification and create a Bibliography.
Given there is only one week left, it is imperative that you get these points finished before addressing any corrections to your existing research.
